Years of specialist experience serving animation-art collectors worldwide.

Our locationOurense, Galicia

Our collection is catalogued, stored, packed and dispatched from north-western Spain.

Who we are

A European gallery built around animation history.

Gallery Animation is the specialist animation-art division of Inversiones Persot S.L., a Spanish collectibles company. Operating since 2020, the gallery is curated by Daniel Pérez Sotelo and serves private collectors, first-time buyers and animation enthusiasts throughout Europe and worldwide.

Our collection is catalogued, stored, carefully packed and dispatched from our warehouse in Ourense, Galicia, in north-western Spain.

Our catalogue brings together artwork from American, European and Japanese productions: classic studio cels, animator’s drawings, layouts, storyboards, model sheets and backgrounds. Every listing is created around the individual object—not a generic stock image—so collectors can study the exact artwork, its condition and its production characteristics before purchasing.

Our reputation has been built through transparent descriptions, careful packaging and thousands of completed transactions. Our verified Catawiki record provides independent, public evidence of that selling history.

Our authenticity standard

What we examine before an artwork is listed.

Authentication is not based on a single stamp or certificate. We consider the object as a whole and describe only what the available evidence supports.

01

Material and technique

We examine paper, acetate, line transfer, paint application and other physical characteristics expected from the stated production period.

02

Production markings

Registration holes, sequence numbers, scene codes, animator notes, studio stamps and colour indications are assessed when present.

03

Studio and period

Style, construction and technical details are compared with known working methods from the relevant studio, series and era.

04

Provenance and documentation

Previous certificates, studio seals, auction records or collection history are considered and disclosed whenever they accompany the artwork.

05

Condition disclosure

Age-related marks, folds, tape, paint loss, line fading or other visible characteristics are photographed and described as clearly as possible.

06

The exact artwork

For unique pieces, the photographs show the object you will receive unless a listing explicitly states otherwise. We avoid generic catalogue images.

Clear terminology

Production art and editions are not the same.

Almost all our specialist catalogue consists of original production material. On the uncommon occasions when we offer a sericel, limited edition or another type of collectible, we identify it clearly so that it is never confused with production-used artwork.

Production cel

A hand-painted or studio-transferred acetate sheet created for use during the production and photography of an animated film, series or commercial.

Production drawing

An animator’s working drawing used to establish movement, expression, position or timing. It may contain registration holes, numbering and production notes.

Layout, storyboard or model sheet

Working material used to plan composition, action, camera movement, storytelling or character consistency during production.

Production background

An original hand-painted setting photographed behind animation cels. If a background is printed, recreated or unrelated to the production cel, the listing should state this clearly.

Sericel or limited edition

A collectible edition produced after or separately from the original animation process. It can be officially licensed and valuable, but it is not presented as a production-used cel.

Certificates and documentation

A Certificate of Authenticity for every purchase.

Every object sold by Gallery Animation is authentic and accurately classified. Every buyer may request a Gallery Animation Certificate of Authenticity before shipment, at no additional cost. The certificate identifies the purchased object and the category under which it was sold. Any additional studio seal, third-party certificate or accompanying documentation is stated separately in the listing and photographed when available.

01
Individual review

Each object is considered on its own physical and production characteristics.

02
Accurate classification

Production art, sericels, editions and added backgrounds are described separately.
