Society Dog Show
Mickey Mouse Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1939)

This original production drawing from Society Dog Show (1939) captures Mickey Mouse in a delightfully sheepish moment as he nervously assures a snobbish judge, "He's a very fine dog, sir, and he's smart!" Just moments later, Pluto proves otherwise by tearing the seat from the judge's pants! Seen near the 4:30 timestamp, these expressive drawings exemplify Disney's early mastery of character animation. The short was directed by Bill Roberts and animated by a stellar team including Shamus Culhane, Fred Moore, John Lounsbery, Les Clark, and Norm Ferguson. Walt Disney himself provided Mickey's voice in this charming cartoon. Drawing is rendered in graphite with red pencil highlights on 12-field, 5-peghole animation paper, with Mickey depicted in full figure at approximately 10 cm tall. Numbered, the drawing exhibit typical age-related toning, edge wear, and light handling from production use.
In vintage Good condition-a wonderful slice of Mickey's golden-era charm.
