Mickey's Garden
Mickey Mouse Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935)
This fantastic original vintage production drawing features Mickey Mouse from Mickey's Garden (1935), Walt Disney's first Technicolor short starring the iconic mouse. Directed by Wilfred Jackson, this surreal and visually inventive cartoon follows Mickey's battle against insects devouring his garden. After running out of insecticide, he mixes a potent new batch with gasoline, tar, castor oil, and sheep dip. However, chaos ensues when Pluto-his head stuck in a pumpkin-bumps into Mickey, accidentally spraying him with the noxious mixture. Mickey falls unconscious and awakens in a bizarre dream world where insects and plants are giant-sized, and the bugs hilariously become intoxicated on the insecticide. This dynamic drawing captures Mickey in a moment of terror as he encounters a massive stag beetle, just before taking off in a panic. Illustrated in graphite on 12-field animation paper, the drawing is numbered H20A. With age-related toning, it remains in vintage Good condition, making them a great find for Disney animation collectors.
