Mickey's Pal Pluto
Minnie Mouse and Kittens Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1933)
Pluto rescues a group of drowning kittens not once but twice in this sweet Burt Gillett-directed short, released to theaters on 2/18/1933. Mickey and Minnie take the poor things in, helping to dry them off and keep them warm. This lot includes three fantastic 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings from the short with two featuring a full figure Minnie and one featuring two of the adorable little kittens. The drawings can be found starting at about 6:57 as Minnie places each wet kitten in a sock and clips them to a clothing line near the furnace to get them warmed up. Each drawing is rendered in graphite, these amazing vintage drawings are noted in the lower right and in Very Good with minor edge and handling wear and light age-related toning.
