Mickey's Service Station
Vintage Donald Duck Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935)
This fantastic original production drawing features Donald Duck in Mickey's Service Station (1935), one of the earliest cartoons to team up Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as a comedic trio. In this hilarious scene, Donald-ever the hotheaded troublemaker-struggles as he removes the oversized grill from Peg-Leg Pete's car in a misguided attempt to fix the vehicle. The sequence begins near the 3:10 timestamp, capturing Donald's signature mix of determination, frustration, and slapstick comedy. Voiced by the legendary Clarence "Ducky" Nash, Donald's distinctive voice would go on to become one of the most recognizable in animation history. Inducted as a Disney Legend in 1993, Nash once quipped, "I wanted to be a doctor; but instead, I became the biggest quack in the world." The graphite production drawing, numbered, was illustrated on 12-field, 2-peghole animation paper and represent an early design of Donald by Art Babbitt. The animation crew included Disney greats Eric Larson, Woolie Reitherman, Art Babbitt, Ferdinand Horvath, and Bill Tytla. These vintage drawings display age-related toning and edge wear, remaining in Good condition. A wonderful addition to any Golden Age Disney animation collection!
